Un destructivo tornado causa graves estragos en La Habana (fotos, vídeos)

Un fuerte tornado provocó grandes destrucciones en la capital de Cuba y dejó al menos tres muertos y 172 heridos. Muchos testigos y medios de comunicación compartieron vídeos de la ciudad afectada por el arrasador fenómeno natural.

Principalmente afectadas quedaron las viviendas e instituciones de salud pública, en particular en el Hospital Materno del municipio 10 de octubre, conocido popularmente como Hijas de Galicia, que tuvo que ser evacuado completamente.

Además, sufrió daños el abastecimiento de agua, incluyendo la destrucción de muchos tanques aéreos que estaban en las azoteas de los edificios.

También resultaron afectados centros de elaboración de pan, escuelas y centros gastronómicos, mientras aún se cuantifican los daños en el sector residencial, donde se reportaron derrumbes totales y parciales en edificios multifamiliares y árboles derribados.

Las inundaciones costeras impactaron principalmente en la zona del Malecón habanero, quedando directamente afectadas viviendas y contaminación de las cisternas de agua potable con el agua de mar, aunque ya se reportó la retirada del mar.

El tornado afectó La Habana durante la noche del 27 de enero. Según las estimaciones, tuvo la categoría F-4 —la máxima categoría es F-5—, y es considerado fuerte con vientos entre 270 y 300 kilómetros por hora.
